Apple-owned Beats by Dre has announced a new pair of wireless Studio Buds, in its first collaboration with the American clothing brand, Union Los Angeles. The latest product from the house of Beats comes as a mark of celebration for Union’s 30th anniversary.
The buds will be priced at $149.99 (about Rs 11,000) in the US, which is the same price as the previously launched Beats Studio Buds. The new edition will add to the existing colour options of black, red and white colour. For now, these will be available in US and Japan starting December 1, 2024. The launch date for India has not been announced yet.
The limited-edition version features a unique black, red and green colour combination which is inspired by the Pan-African flag as an ode to the brand’s legacy. The buds will be exclusively available at Union Los Angeles, Tokyo stores and the company website too.
Union X Beats Studio Buds: Key features
These special edition wireless earbuds come with active noise-cancellation, transparency mode in which you can hear the world around you, compact round design, up to 8 hours of playback time and IPX4 rating. In addition to this, there is hands-free ‘Hey Siri’ support, Bluetooth for extended range, USB type C port, and Find my support. In little contrast to the Studio Beats that were launched in June, the new limited edition variant share common features with Studio Buds other than the colour combination.
To the joy of many, the Union X Beats Studio Buds are compatible with both Android and iOS. They feature simple one-touch pairing for your iOS device. Though, if you have an Android phone, you can connect it with the Beats app to get features like built-in controls, device status and firmware updates. Those who own Apple devices don’t require any app, as they can set up the buds just by saying ‘Hey Siri’.
Studio Beats come in a nice, small form factor with a vibrant colour scheme and completely in-ear design. This means they don’t have long stems as seen on the Apple AirPods, marking its clear inclination to the Studio Beats family.
