Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Engineering Services Exam
Before filling UPSC ESE Application Form, students should ensure about given eligible norms. They must be physically fit for admission to the desired post. They also check the required qualification and age limit.
Education Qualification-
- Candidates have a degree in Engineering from a recognized University.
- They should pass sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India)
- Obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University college which is recognized in India
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers
- Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II & III or Sections A & B of the Aeronautical Society of India
Age Limit- The age of the candidates should be between 21 to 30 years as on 01.01.2024. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1992 and not later than 1st January 2001
Age relaxation is applicable upto 5 Years for SC/ST and 3 years for the OBC category. Refer official ESE Exam Notification for more details
UPSC ESE 2024 Application Fee
While filling UPSC ESE Application Form, aspirants are required to deposit application charges. Aspirants have to pay Rs 200/- in any Branch of SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.
Note- Female/SC/ST/PwBD are exempted from payment of fee.

How to Apply for UPSC Engineering Service Exam Online Form
Aspirants are required to apply online using the link www.upsconline.nic.in. First of all, if you are a new candidate, then register. For this, you have to enter your valid Gmail and mobile number. After that, you will get the user ID and password on your registered number using which you will login the UPSC ESE Application form.
While filling the UPSC Engineering Services Exam Form, candidates should keep the necessary documents such as Cast Certificate, Photograph, Signature etc.

- And then select Apply Online link from the home page.
- Click on the “Online Application for Various Examinations” link

UPSC ESE Exam Pattern 2024
The Union Public Service Commission shall conduct the preliminary exam, Main Exam and Personality Test for Engineering Services Selection process. Followings are the selection stages of UPSC ESE 2024-
- Stage-I: Preliminary Exam- 500 Marks
- Stage-II: Main Examination- 600 Marks
- Personality Test- 200 Marks
UPSC ESE Pre Exam Pattern
The prelims exam will be held for 500 marks. In this exam questions will be asked from General Studies and Subject Concerned. Candidates have to solve Paper-I (General Studies-200 Marks) for 2 hours and Paper-II (Subject Concerned- 300 marks) in 3 hours.

UPSC ESE Main Exam Pattern
The Main Exam will be held for 600 marks and it consists of three papers i.e. Paper-I and Paper-II. Each paper is divided into 300 marks and the time duration will be 3 hours for each paper. The question will be asked from the respective subject which is chosen by candidates at online registration.
