The Union Public Service Service Commission has released CGS Exam Notification. The Authority will organize the “Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2022”. The CGS Prelims Exam is scheduled to be held on 20th February 2022. Therefore all eligible candidates fill UPSC CGS Application form using the below link. 

Before applying for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2022, eligible candidates must check CGS Exam Notification Carefully. If they meet all eligibility then apply for UPSC Geo-Scientist Jobs from 22nd September 2022. The last date to apply online is on or before 12th October 2022. UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2021-22, Union PSC CGS Exam online Form 

Union Public Service Commission invited applications for Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2022. The Commission will hold a Computer Based Screening Test for selection to Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2022 through Preliminary and Mains Exam and Prelims will be held on 20 February 2022. The Main Examination will be held on 25th & 26th June 2022. 

The UPSC Geo-Scientist Application has started on 22 September and will end on 12th October 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam 2022

Students should check UPSC CGS Eligibility Criteria before applying for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment. Post-wise Qualifications and age limits are given below here. Refer to UPSC CGS Prelims Exam Notification for more details.

Education Qualification- 

Geologists Gr A in Geological Survey of India- Aspirants should have obtained Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Marine Geology or Oceanography and Geochemistry

Geophysicists Gr A in Geological Survey of India- Candidates should have obtained M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a recognized University.

Chemists Group ‘A’: Aspirants must hold M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized University. 

Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group ‘A’ in Central Ground Water Board: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university.

Age Limit- 

candidate must have attained the age of 21 Years and must not have attained the age of 32 Years on the first day of the month of January of the year in which the exam is to be held i.e. i.e. he/she must have been born not
earlier than 2nd January 1990 and not later than 1st January 2001.

For Scientist ‘B’(Hydrogeology) Group ‘A’, Scientist ‘B’(Chemical) Group ‘A’ and Scientist ‘B’(Geophysics) Group ‘A’ 

21 years and must not have attained at the age of 32 years on 1st January 2022 i.e. he/she must have been born not later than 2nd January 1990 and not later than 1s t January 2001.

Application Fee for UPSC CGS Exam 2022

All candidates have to pay the application fee for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2022. They are required to pay fee of Rs 200/-. The payment can be paid through State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI. 

Note- Female/SC/ST/ Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates are exempted from payment of the fee. 

How to fill UPSC Geo-Scientist Application Form 2022

The Department will receive the UPSC CGS Exam online form through online mode. Therefore first candidates must keep all necessary documents and details and start the registration process for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2022. 

  • The first step of the CGS Application is Registration. They fill a valid E-Mail ID and Mobile number and then login details will be generated on the registered number. 
  • After that open the UPSC Geo-Scientist online form and fill in personal and academic details in the right manner 
  • In the next step of UPSC CGS Registration, upload photograph and signature in a specified format. 
  • Pay the payment of UPSC CGS Exam online form 
  • Click on the submit button and save the UPSC Geo-Scientist Application

Candidates should also have knowledge of Exam Pattern and Syllabus for Geoscientist Examination. There are three main stages of the final selection process i.e. Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Personality Test/Interview 

  • Stage-I: Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination (Computer Based objective type Papers) for selection of candidates for the stage-II…400 Marks 
  • Stage-II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Conventional Type Papers); and …….. 600 Marks 
  • Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview …….. 200 Marks
