Union Public Service Commission invited applications for Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2024. The Commission will hold a Computer Based Screening Test for selection to Combined Geo-Scientist Examination, 2024 through Preliminary and Mains Exam and Prelims will be held on 20 February 2024. The Main Examination will be held on 25th & 26th June 2024.
The UPSC Geo-Scientist Application has started on 22 September and will end on 12th October 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam 2024

Education Qualification-
Geologists Gr A in Geological Survey of India- Aspirants should have obtained Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Marine Geology or Oceanography and Geochemistry
Geophysicists Gr A in Geological Survey of India- Candidates should have obtained M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or M.Sc. (Geophysics) or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a recognized University.
Chemists Group ‘A’: Aspirants must hold M.Sc in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized University.
Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group ‘A’ in Central Ground Water Board: Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university.
Age Limit-
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 Years and must not have attained the age of 32 Years on the first day of the month of January of the year in which the exam is to be held i.e. i.e. he/she must have been born not
earlier than 2nd January 1990 and not later than 1st January 2001.
For Scientist ‘B’(Hydrogeology) Group ‘A’, Scientist ‘B’(Chemical) Group ‘A’ and Scientist ‘B’(Geophysics) Group ‘A’
21 years and must not have attained at the age of 32 years on 1st January 2024 i.e. he/she must have been born not later than 2nd January 1990 and not later than 1s t January 2001.

Application Fee for UPSC CGS Exam 2024
All candidates have to pay the application fee for UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment 2024. They are required to pay fee of Rs 200/-. The payment can be paid through State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI.
Note- Female/SC/ST/ Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.
